CORNERSTONE

THE NEWEST RELEASE FROM THE DIAMOND SESSION:

CORNERSTONE

Here is our latest release from THE DIAMOND SESSION. “Cornerstone” is an older song but one that we believe expresses how strong our God is. It is a source of encouragement during such shaky times in our nation, a reminder that “Through the Storm, He is Lord.” “Cornerstone” left a very special on our friend Cordell. Cordell plays bass in all of these videos and he was very happy to share how this song has impacted his life. Here is what he had to say:

“A few years back when I was in high school, I got a small illness that is still relatively unidentified. The doctors don’t really know why it all happened and neither do I. Essentially, my intestines shut down. It left me in my bed or the bathroom for about a month and a half. I wasn’t able to go to school because I couldn’t be away from either of those things for more than a few hours. And I couldn’t serve in church for the same reasons.

I soon learned what ‘time with the Lord’ truly meant and how essential it was to my walk. During this time I wrote, listened, and meditated, finding peace in the truth that whatever season I was in God would bring me through it.

Over time, I was healed. The sickness had run its course and decided I was no longer going to be it’s victim. My intestines began to act normal again, and life was back to its regular rhythm. I can so vividly remember my first week serving back at church. I was playing bass at the time and the band had chosen to play Cornerstone. I’d never had a chorus resonate in my spirit so brightly until singing it with our congregation at the top of our lungs that day.

Every time I sing this song and hear the lyrics “Weak made strong in the Savior's love, Through the storm, He is Lord” I can’t help but think about how I relate to them. I once was weak, forced to live in my bed, unable to do much of anything, but here I am. I am stronger than I was before, living my life each day being grateful for the life He gives us. And grateful for the grace He’s given me.

I once was weak, but now I’m strong. Praise God for it.”

HOPE BEYOND DESPAIR

NEWEST RELEASE FROM THE DIAMOND SESSION:

HOPE BEYOND DESPAIR

This song has had a special place in my heart since its release two years ago.  It was written by my friend and worship leader Ian Zumback.  Ian is part of the Old Bear Records family and has been putting his unique spin and tone on Christian music for years.  He has become a friend and source of encouragement and wisdom to our church and family.  He is truly one of the best humans to enter my life in a while.  This song, “Hope Beyond Despair” is a song about where we find peace in the turbulence of this world.  And it’s a reminder that the Lord accompanies us through it all.  In a time in history with so much despair, unrest, and injustice, this is the message that we, as the Church, want to promote.  The Lord is strong and can handle anything because He made everything.

2 Corinthians 12:1 - That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Thank you Ian for allowing us to do a rendition of your song.  I hope this messages reaches people in a new way and can reassure them that God is always in control and can get us through anything.

Psalm 121 1:I - lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth

THE DIAMOND SESSION - COVID-19 videos

THE DIAMOND SESSION is here!

We have been working hard over the past few weeks to create more worship videos, and they are finally done! Today we release the first one, Spirit Move.

When COVID-19 shut down the world, we knew that chapels, churches, bible studies, missionaries, and other ministries would need some digital resources to continue ministering to their communities. Large churches with large budgets were able to start filming worship services to share online, but we wanted to provide something to ministries that don’t have such resources. So, we piled some friends into a garage and shot THE GARAGE SESSION. Just a handful of songs that would be easy to show, share, and encourage ministries to keep moving forward during a shut down. We wanted it to feel intimate and create a connection with the viewer, and not just recreate a church service, on a stage in front of a congregation. We wanted to create a unique environment that would allow viewers to connect with the Holy Spirit without any distractions. There was no way to know how these would be received, or if anyone would be able to use them. But at the very least, we were going to raise our voices together.

Since then, we have been asked for more videos, which led to THE CROSSFIT SESSION where we took over a cross-fit gym and were able to record a few more songs. Then last month a church in Kentucky asked us to make some videos to help support their vision of a virtual youth camp. This felt like a great idea, and something we wanted to be a part of.  We planned another video shoot, this time in a proper rehearsal studio in north Nashville called Diamond Sound Studios. Thus, THE DIAMOND SESSION. We packed as many songs into one day as we could!  This session was by far the most fun, most work, and we believe will be the most impactful.

To our supporters and those who have used the previous videos, we already sent download links for all the new songs. If your ministry would like access to these please email us so we can get them to you as soon as possible. They are 100% free. We are humbled and blessed that we can be a part of what God is doing in so many communities.

THE DIAMOND SESSION videos will be released publicly, one at a time, every week on our social media outlets. We hope that sharing them on social networks will break up some of the continuous negative images in your feed. And that as you scroll you will be reminded of who is truly in control of this crazy world.

It is our true hope and prayer that these videos are used as a tool in your ministry. Please let us know how we can be supporting you by clicking on the CONTACT tab at the top of this screen.

Worship at the Well

Nashville is our home. We live here, we eat here, we shop here, and we make music here. But what Renegade has yet to do, is share with Nashville what we do with military communities. So, for the first time we will be hosting a worship event for our friends, family, and supporters in Nashville. On February 8th we will be taking over The Well Coffee House in Brentwood TN, and doing what Renegade does best, worshiping our Father with our community. Not only is this an event that is meant to bless our local community, but it is also a chance for them to get involved with Renegade’s mission and bless the military communities we will be visiting this year. We will be raising funds to send our team to Ft Belvoir VA, Ft Bragg NC, and Ft Benning GA. It will finally be a chance for our local family to see why what we do is so important and how we impact military communities when we visit them. We believe that worshiping together as a community is one of the best ways to grow relationally and spiritually with each other. This whole concept is why we started the WORSHIP AS ONE event concept. It’s only right that we do it in our own community as well. So everyone we know through school, church, work, music or anywhere is invited to this FREE event with the intention of worshiping together, connecting with each other and our heavenly Father, and learning a little bit more about how we can impact military communities.

We will be joined by Pastor, Author and Worship Leader Kurtis Parks who will do a set from his recent release “Hymn Like,” before the Renegade band leads us in what is promised to be a worship experience full of Holy Spirit encounters and blessings beyond expectations.

So mark your calendar for FEBRUARY 8th at 8pm! Bring a friend and your singing voice!

The Well Coffeehouse is located at 690 Old Hickory Blvd. Brentwood TN.

New Year, New News!

baby boy.jpg

Happy New Year! It’s been a crazy few months here in Nashville. For one: My wife and I had our first baby boy over the summer! His name is John Bear and he is the coolest little dude every. He loves banging on the piano and falling asleep to tunes like John Denver’s “Country Road.” He’s already visited nine states, been to two professional hockey games and a handful of concerts. It’s such a blessing to have him around.

We have also been heavily involved in a new church plant here in Nashville, called Bridges Nashville. It has been an incredible experience seeing how a new church service starts and the team God pulls together to make it happen. We have made new friends and have been part of life changing worship services. God is doing good things there! If you’re in the Nashville area, please check it out.

With all of these new things, Renegade has been rather quiet. But no more! We are hitting this new year hard. We are already in talks with Ft. Belvoir, VA; Ft. Bragg, NC; and Ft. Benning, GA to bring Worship As One events to their communities. We have some news coming out later this week for our local Nashville family, and we have big plans for the rest of the year.

It’s exciting to be done with the holiday season and the first few months of parenthood, so that we can get back into the ministry and mission God has called us to for military communities. We hope you all will keep up with us as we grow and reach new military bases. Thank you all for your continued support and love.

See you soon.
