THE NEWEST RELEASE FROM THE DIAMOND SESSION:
CORNERSTONE
Here is our latest release from THE DIAMOND SESSION. “Cornerstone” is an older song but one that we believe expresses how strong our God is. It is a source of encouragement during such shaky times in our nation, a reminder that “Through the Storm, He is Lord.” “Cornerstone” left a very special on our friend Cordell. Cordell plays bass in all of these videos and he was very happy to share how this song has impacted his life. Here is what he had to say:
“A few years back when I was in high school, I got a small illness that is still relatively unidentified. The doctors don’t really know why it all happened and neither do I. Essentially, my intestines shut down. It left me in my bed or the bathroom for about a month and a half. I wasn’t able to go to school because I couldn’t be away from either of those things for more than a few hours. And I couldn’t serve in church for the same reasons.
I soon learned what ‘time with the Lord’ truly meant and how essential it was to my walk. During this time I wrote, listened, and meditated, finding peace in the truth that whatever season I was in God would bring me through it.
Over time, I was healed. The sickness had run its course and decided I was no longer going to be it’s victim. My intestines began to act normal again, and life was back to its regular rhythm. I can so vividly remember my first week serving back at church. I was playing bass at the time and the band had chosen to play Cornerstone. I’d never had a chorus resonate in my spirit so brightly until singing it with our congregation at the top of our lungs that day.
Every time I sing this song and hear the lyrics “Weak made strong in the Savior's love, Through the storm, He is Lord” I can’t help but think about how I relate to them. I once was weak, forced to live in my bed, unable to do much of anything, but here I am. I am stronger than I was before, living my life each day being grateful for the life He gives us. And grateful for the grace He’s given me.
I once was weak, but now I’m strong. Praise God for it.”
